At Lantern Capital, our mission is simple: Everyone Wins! We are a debt advisory firm specializing in Equipment Financing, Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and Business Lending, serving clients across Canada and the United States.

Our technology team is building a modern fintech platform to streamline commercial finance workflows. We are currently looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our remote team in India and contribute across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, databases, and application development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain features using MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js

• Develop responsive frontend functionality using React.

• Manage application state using Redux and server-state/data fetching using TanStack Query (React Query).

• Build and maintain backend services, business logic, and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.

• Work with MongoDB schemas, queries, and aggregation pipelines.

• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.

• Work with authentication, authorization, permissions, and role-based access requirements.

• Collaborate with developers, designers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.

• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.

• Implement unit, integration, UI, and acceptance testing where appropriate.

• Diagnose and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and integration problems.

• Contribute to application reliability, security, and performance improvements.

• Work with cloud services, file storage, deployment environments, and containerized applications.

Required Skills & Experience

• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of professional software development experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of JavaScript and the MERN stack — MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js.

• Understanding of frontend and backend web application development.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party API integrations.

• Good understanding of databases, data structures, and application logic.

• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.

• Good communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.

• Hands-on development experience through academic projects, internships, hackathons, personal projects, or professional work.

  
  

Preferred Skills

• Candidates with exposure to either of the following will be preferred:

• AI: LLMs, Generative AI, AI API integrations, prompt engineering, or Python.

• Data & Analytics: Statistics, data analysis, quantitative problem-solving, Python, SQL, or data visualization.

• Familiarity with Azure, Docker, RBAC, or web application security is an asset.

• Candidates are not expected to have experience in all preferred areas.

Working Hours

Candidates are expected to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) and should be comfortable working these hours while based in India.
